John Cummings is a working ceramic artist living in Asheville, NC area. John keeps a studio space located at Southside studios. John is from Indiana, where he went to undergraduate at University of Southern Indiana and earned a B.S. in Studio Art. He went on to graduate school at the University of Mississippi earning a M.F.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in Ceramics. After graduate school he spent three years working as an artist assistant for Jun Kaneko, where he learned how to build extremely large-scale ceramic work. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor in Art at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and teaches privately around the Asheville area.
