Remo Piracci
NC Mountains Pre-Conference Artist
Remo Piracci became a potter after being a master woodworker for many years. His love of clay connects him to the earth and her spirituality. Putting his hands together while pulling clay feels like praying for him.
He has studied at Appalachian State University, Odyssey Center and Penland. Remo was fortunate to have Daniel Johnston as a mentor who taught him the Thai method of building large functional storage vessels which culminated in Remo building a 140 cu ft. Anagama kiln at his studio in Valle Crucis, NC. Remo now lives in Zirconia, NC and he just finished a firing in a new 60 cu ft. Sasukenei smokeless kiln he constructed at his studio.
