Josh Copus Compound
Native to North Carolina, Easters grew up in the Piedmont and migrated to the Blue Ridge mountains in 2011. She discovered ceramics in undergrad at UNCA, where she first learned the process of wood firing and has been refining her skills ever since. She currently lives and practices her craft in Asheville, where she is also an instructor at Odyssey ClayWorks.
Kristen Easters' work seeks to preserve the essence of ephemeral beauty found in nature through an alchemical union of materials, maker's touch and fire's dance in the kiln. Her craft process is fueled by the desire to achieve a harmonious marriage of these elements recorded on the surfaces of her wares.
